Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic Massage encompasses a variety of approaches, working to improve an individual's health and wellbeing through the hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Therapeutic massage encourages deep relaxation, reduces muscle tension, and aims to release the constricting patterns in the tissues. In general, a therapeutic massage session brings you back into balance and reminds your body how good it can feel. For more information or if you want to schedule a session please contact our center and ask for John.

    * Provides deep relaxation

Two different styles of massage are available: Integrative Therapeutic Massage and Lymphatic Massage.

Integrative Therapeutic Massage incorporates Swedish massage with advanced techniques to speed healing, regain balance and encourage muscle efficiency. Some of the techniques used during the massage include:

    Swedish Massage--Relaxes muscles by the application of medium pressure     and stroking in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the     heart. Techniques include long strokes, kneading, percussion, and gentle     rocking motions.

    Deep Tissue--Utilizes deep, stationary pressure or slow movements to     release muscle tension and effect change on a structural level. It aims to     release the chronic patterns of tension in the body.

    Passive Stretching--During the massage, limbs are gently manipulated to     open joints and lengthen muscles.

Lymphatic Massage is a very light touch that promotes the circulation and drainage of the lymphatic system. It strengthens the immune system function, helping to reduce susceptibility to colds and allergens. This technique, while subtle, is deeply relaxing and beneficial to the skin. In addition, advanced techniques are applied for people who need to reduce lymphedema or ease swelling after surgery or dental work.
