      <image:title>Our Doctors - Dr. Barbara Briner</image:title>
      <image:caption>Dr.Barbara Briner received her MD in 1991 from the University of Basel in Switzerland. After receiving her Swiss physician's license she specialized in Psychiatry, and worked for years in numerous specialty clinics and hospitals before, in 1998, opening a private practice in the capital city Bern. Today, she runs the Sierra Acupuncture Clinic as an acupuncturist, Medical Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine consultant in the United States. Her clinical and practical experience has given her an incredible compassion, respect, and depth of understanding into the human condition. Barbara holds a pioneering position in the new field of Integrative Medicine. In addition to her western medical training, she has studied a wide array of healing models from different cultures to develop new definitions of illness, health and healing. She pursued a secondary graduate and doctoral degree in Oriental Medicine in California. After studying at the Japanese school of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College Berkeley, she graduated from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, with a Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, specializing in Medical Qigong. She is a Nationally Accredited Diplomat in the field, State Licensed Acupuncturist and Primary Health Care Provider. In 2005 she expanded her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine by interning at hospitals in China associated with Hong Zhao University. In 2011 did she earn a doctorate (DAOM) in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches University, San Jose, CA. For the last twelve plus years is she practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine at The Sierra Acupuncture Health Center in Sonora, California. The center offers itself as a resource for the local community and a teaching clinic for Qigong.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Tobias Keene, D.D.S. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Classes - Qigong Level I</image:title>
      <image:caption>You will learn the building blocks of Chinese Medical Theory and begin your practice of Medical Qigong. In this course you will be introduced to the foundational theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine. We will explore teachings arising from the Yin/Yang school of thought that developed before the Great Unification of China in 221 B.C. and the evolution of the concept of Qi. You will also be introduced to Five Element Theory, from both an ancient and modern perspective, as well as the yin meridians. Material will be complimented with the psychological and western medical perspective. Your Medical Qigong exercises will include training in Wuji Posture, beginning your practice of the powerful Five Dao Yin forms, and the Healing Sounds (Part A). In level I you will learn to apply the teachings from these corner-stone's of Chinese Medicine to your own body and life, understanding health, as well as the dynamics of power and healing at a new level by the end of this course. You will have a complete exercise set designed to powerfully increase and balance your life energy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Classes - Qigong level II</image:title>
      <image:caption>You will deepen your relationship to your Qigong practice and complete the set of the Five Dao Yin forms and Healing Sounds (Part B). In level II we will continue our exploration of the fundamentals of Chinese theory. You will be introduced to the Yang Meridians. In addition, we will teach Meridian Cycle Theory, and Complementary Meridian Theory. Through these systems you will begin to understand the internal and external communication network that influences health, well being, and vitality. In addition, you will be introduced to Medical Qigong Prescriptions for specific health benefits.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Classes - Qigong level III</image:title>
      <image:caption>You are entering the clinical phase of the Medical Qigong training. You will develop diagnostic abilities and learn specific tools and Medical Qigong Prescription Exercises and Treatment Protocols to restore health out of balance. In level III you will be introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine Organ Theory and East/West common pathological syndromes. Working in pairs and groups you will practice your diagnostic skills, learning specific exercise sets to restore health. You will leave this course with the ability to more fully understand your own body system as well as apply Medical Qigong to treat specific conditions and syndromes. At the end of this intensive you will be certified by the Yellow Mountain Institute as a Medical Qigong Practitioner 1st Degree.</image:caption>
