Medical Qigong Clinic Treatments

Introduction to Medical Qigong

Qigong has been practiced for over 4000 years. It was first collected into written texts and documented by the ancient Daoist Masters before the great unification of China in 221 B.C. There are many types of Qigong practiced in China and throughout the world today. Medical Qigong is the form that has been actively used for thousands of years by Daoist Masters, Monks, Healers and Doctors.

"Qi" means life force energy while "Gong" means practice or skill. Often called an internal martial art, Qigong is practiced through special body movements combined with mental focus and conscious breathing. This is mirrored in three levels referred to as Shen (mind and spirit), Qi (life force), and Jing (body posture and strength). Immediate and remarkable effects can be felt when one experiences Qigong.

The Chinese understand that a toxic environment, bad lifestyle and/or unresolved emotions can interfere with and affect the smooth flow of Qi and blood in our bodies. This has been compared to a river congested with debris, called Qi blockages. Qigong masters explain that if left unbalanced, these blockages stagnate. If untreated, these stagnant areas can begin to take physical form causing malaise, emotional disharmony .

Medical Qigong has been used as a healing modality by thousands in hospitals and clinics across China alongside western bio-medicine and other TCM methods of treating the whole body for peak health. Medical Qigong is considered an ancient treasure and one of the oldest branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It teaches practitioners to recognize dynamic and complex relationships within the body to learn to treat one self and others for optimal health.
